The Villas at Saint Therese opened in 1999. Since then, we have cared for hundreds of older adults who were in that 'gray area' - those not needing skilled nursing care, but in need of a safe, supportive home.
Residents make their studio-style apartment their own, by furnishing it with their own familiar belongings. Their own bed, a favorite chair, cherished photos and collections.
Our apartments have a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator/freezer and kitchen-style cabinets and sink. The handicapped equipped bathrooms with a walk-in shower foster your independence, but staff is always available to assist you with your activities of daily living as needed.
Frequently asked Questions...
"Do you have to be Catholic to come to the Villas?" No! We provide services to ALL faiths - but the fact that we have daily Mass seems to be a great comfort for those of the Catholic faith.
"Do you accept Medicaid payment?"
No, we have to ask for private payment, but our monthly rates are all inclusive, meaning we don't add charges for extra services rendered. They are very comparable to the rates of other Assisted Living facilities in the area. Charges for the Beauty/Barber Shop and for miscellaneous medical supplies however are extra.
"Does insurance pay for Assisted Living?" If you have 'long term care' insurance, it may pay all or a portion of the cost. You would have to check your individual policy, however to be sure.
"How do I get on your waiting list?"
We require that our 'Application for Residency' be filled out completely and returned to us for review. Also, a 'Bank Account Verification' form must be sent to your bank for them to complete and send back to us. These forms are in our application pack, which can be mailed to you at your request, or given to you when you make an appointment and come for a tour. We do NOT require a fee for you to be placed on our waiting list.
"Can you accommodate couples?"
No, our Ohio Residential Care License allows for single occupancy of each apartment. It would be unlawful for us to have more then one person residing in a room. We will not jeopardize our license in this matter. We do have four 'suites' which consist of a Room A and a Room B connected by a door - similar to hotel suites. We have a waiting list for couples, but as these rooms are occupied by single Residents presently, the occurrence of both rooms of a suite becoming available at the same time is very slim.
"How long is the wait for an available apartment?" We can answer this best when you call or write to us. Your place on the waiting list goes by the DATE on your completed and returned Application for Residency form. Once you are on our waiting list, we will call you according to your place on the list when an apartment is available, and/or is expected to become available. We DO NOT put you on the 'bottom' of the list if you are called and you're not ready to come to the Villas. If you decline an apartment, you'll be asked if you want to remain, or be removed from the waiting list. If you do want to remain on it, you will keep your place on the list.

Served by the Carmelite Sisters
Sr Francis, Sr Diane, Sr Michael and 'Buddy'
The daily operations of the Villas' is overseen by the three Sisters missioned here. We are present everyday, are licensed nurses, and work side by side with our very qualified and dedicated lay staff. We live on campus and are 'on call' always. We pass on to our employees the mission and philosophy of our congregation - the dignified and individualized care of each Resident. This is summed up in the words of our Foundress, Mother Angeline McCrory, Servant of God:
